Jal Mahal means “Water Palace”, and is located in the middle of Man Sagar Lake next to Jaipur. The palace and lake were renovated in the 18th century by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Amer, whose greatest achievement was the construction of Jaipur city itself, now the capital of Rajasthan.
