Sometimes what is beneath is as important at what lies above. As I was working on this painting, certain areas were a bit too saturated with paint. I decided to scrape some color off and discovered that the underlying layers were more interesting. This painting reminds me of metal that has been subjected to the ravages of weather and rust, revealing a beauty that only comes with time.
It's a Matter of Time measures 36" x 36". This large, textural canvas is gallery-wrapped on 1.5" deep bars. The sides have been painted in gray/black micaceous iron oxide. Framing is not required. It is signed on the side, dated and signed on the back. A Certificate of Authenticity is included.
