Artwork description:

The tiny islands of Rona, Raasay and Eilean Fladday sit between the Isle of Skye and Applecross on the mainland. Swirling in mist and outlined only in silhouette they seem magical and full of mystery. This is some of my latest work, I am using special techniques to create the dreamy look and the colours I am using reflect the beautiful teal blue of the water surrounding the islands.

LIMITED EDITION Fine Art Canvas - this is not mounted or stretched on a frame.

I photograph and print every image, I do not outsource any part of my workflow. Each canvas has been painstakingly crafted to ensure the true colours, resolution and texture are exactly as they should be.

For these special small editions of my work I use Canson® Infinity Museum ProCanvas. This fabulous 100% cotton canvas has been designed "for professionals producing true Fine Art Reproductions that require precision images with a very high resolution".

Canson are one of the oldest paper manufacturers in the world, they have been making paper and canvas for over 450 years in France. Founded in 1557 and printers to Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, Canson has the choice of many famous artists such as Picasso, Ingres, Chagal and Miro to name but a few. Canson are Eco Friendly - they purchase paper pulp only from forests managed in a sustainable way which also makes them pretty special.

The canvas is printed and quality checked by me, it is then varnished with two coats of Hannemuhle matte varnish to protect it from scratches. It has been gallery wrapped so the image carries on round the edges to create the illusion of 3D when it is hung on the wall.

By using beautiful Canson Museum ProCanvas paper combining it with the fabulous non-fade Epson Ultrachrome K3 with Vivid Magenta inkset of 9 colours, I can produce a print of exceptional quality which will last a lifetime without fading.
