Artist's description:

Original ink portrait of German artist Elfriede Lohse-Wächtler, inspired by a vintage photograph.

The drawing is matted and will fit a standard 30cm x 40cm frame. The ivory colored mat has a rectangular cut-out.
The drawing is discretely signed on the front. (I added the signature after the matting, so it does not yet show on the image of the entire paper).
I will also provide a certificate of authenticity with this work.

The mat (or mount) size is ca 30cm x 40cm.
The drawing was made on ivory toned Arches "Crème" drawing paper, sized 23cm x 31cm; ca. 9" by 12"
The mat (or mount) opening is ca. 21,6cm x 29,8cm.

This is one of the 31 ink drawings with portraits of woman artists I did for Inktober 2017. (Inktober being both an initiative and a hashtag created by artist Jake Parker, which every year in October spurs thousands of artists worldwide to post an ink drawing every day on social media).

I choose this theme because despite much progress made, art history still tends to overlook women - especially when it comes to artists from the past.
