In The Eye Of A Hurricane is an original oil painting on canvas, 61 x 76 cm (24 x 30 inches), painted in 2023 by London artist Ryan Louder.

A face resolves out of the paint at the centre, two dark eyes and the long suggestion of a nose, built entirely from the same blue-grey strokes that build the weather around it. That is the point: the boundary between face and storm is never fixed, because in the state I painted this from there is no boundary. Darker masses gather to either side, peripheral presences that never fully resolve but never fully leave. Red marks drip at the lower left, and they arrived in the painting the way they arrived in the room.

Direct recording of REM intrusion, not metaphor. I have painted over 2,000 works, with over 1,000 originals sold.

Painted in my London studio. Carefully packaged and dispatched with a tracked courier. Any questions, just ask.
