Artist's description:

This expressive piece is about being happy about being who you are, even if it's quirky or different. It's something that we hear about all the time, but often so hard to truly embrace. This woman is assertively saying to the world, this is who I am and I like it. She's also doing it in a way that is supportive of those who also may be like her. She loves them, and is showing them her support. This piece comes with a signed copy of one of my four novels.

I'm an American figurative expressionist painter. I spent the first half of my adult life writing fiction, and then began painting in 2008. I'm the author of five books, including four novels. My art often includes a strong sense of character and story. My primary subject is the complexity of women.

My work is influenced by fashion photography and a childhood spent immersed in the high-end interior design industry. My mother was a successful designer whose work was featured in publications such as Architectural Digest and Southern Living.

To better understand some of the underlying themes and emotional content that influence my art, read my (almost) memoir, Please Love Me, as well as my other books. It can be found on Amazon, along with my other titles.
