This is a study taken from a sandstone rock. Adam created two versions from this rock form, creating a diptych. Each responds to a different time of day - The one on the left - daytime (uncontrolled light source) and the one on the right - night time (controlled light source).
This was a study into the nature of controlled and uncontrolled light source and recording the effects of the light on form. The piece is called I AM THE ROCK and acts as an allegory to Jesus Christ and Prometheus - both gods who gave something to human kind.
This painting is framed in a handmade black frame.
