Mixed Media Original: Hydroelectric
This rustic yet tidy brick building is part of the Occum hydroelectric plant and dam in Norwich, CT which was originally built to provide water power to the various mills that were in operation in the area. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
This mixed media painting is layered with my photography of the building, vintage documents, acrylic paints and oil pastels to create a unique, vintage inspired piece of industrial art. This is the one-of-a kind original, not a reproduction.

Inspired by my passion for history, old things and landscapes, my photography marries beautifully with mixed media techniques including acrylic paints, inks and collage. Each piece tells a unique story through the quiet scenes captured, the vintage ephemera incorporated and the touches of paint that when combined creates a new piece that is greater than the sum of its parts.
My work is vintage inspired, architecturally inspired and nature inspired. I create art that speaks to wide open spaces, quiet places and simpler times.
