Hydrangeas always provide a dramatic burst of colour. I was taken with the multitude of forms and colours in this beautiful bloom, letting my brushes flow around the canvas to capture the energy and life in the petals. This energy flows from the flower into the background, echoes of the petal forms reverberating within the frame.
