This is one of the 40 images from my solo exhibition "Dancing on the wings of freedom" (Lithgow, NSW, Australia, 2016) which featured small winged and nectar-drinking creatures: butterflies, bees, dragonflies, cicadas and Australian native birds. All prints in this collection are a limited edition of 25.
This image was taken in my garden in the Blue Mountains in 2014. Every summer, the decorative Mexican sage "Hot Lips" flowers abundantly over 6 months, attracting Australian native birds and bees. When I first saw this tiny Australian native bird, Eastern Spinebill, I did not know its name, so I called it "humming bird" because of its fast fluttering around flowers while extracting nectar with its long tongue inside an equally long beak - hence the title of this photograph.
Most of my images are available in a range of sizes and on different kinds of photographic and fine art paper, including Inkjet Pro Fine Art Paper320gsm, Inkjet Hahnemuele Bright White Rag Paper 310gsm, Inkjet Canson Rag Photographique Paper 310gsm, and Inkjet Hahnemuele Museum Etching Paper 350gsm. Please ask me if you wish to place a special order and I will do my best to fulfil your wishes. Please note that prints on fine art paper will be shipped flat to avoid damage to the extra sensitive print, which may slightly increase the shipping cost. I will provide you with a special shipping quote prior to your placing the order if applicable.
