An acrylic painting measuring 25 x 25 cm and painted on MDF canvas board.
'Hope Is The Thing With Feathers' is full of optimistic hope for things to come.
Painted in layers of acrylic paint and acrylic glaze, rubbing back to build up depth of colour.
The title comes from the Emily Dickinson poem of the same name..,
“Hope” is the thing with feathers -
That perches in the soul -
And sings the tune without the words -
And never stops - at all -
And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard -
And sore must be the storm -
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm -
I’ve heard it in the chillest land -
And on the strangest Sea -
Yet - never - in Extremity,
It asked a crumb - of me.
Acrylic paint, acrylic medium glaze, gesso, charcoal.
