Artwork description:

Bronze sculpture in Ciutadella cathedral in Menorca, Balearic Islands, Spain.

Whilst on my travels I stopped to admire the cathedral in the old Menorcan capital of Ciutadella. Always interesting architecture to be had in cathedrals and great sources of inspiration. This one was no exception from the pinky orange hue of the exterior stone work to this impressive bronze work. The coloured light from a nearby stained glass window made it something quite pleasing.
From Wikipedia: "The Cathedral Basilica of Menorca started construction in 1300 and was finished in 1362, creating a building of the "ogival art" style with the five sided apse is orientated to the east.
After the desecration and devastation of the cathedral by the Turks under Barbarossa in 1558 and the collapse of the vaults of the apse in 1626, the damage was repaired in the original style.
The cathedral was sacked and desecrated in the first days of the Spanish civil war in 1936 but was restored in its current form between 1939 and 1941." Restoration work, as with many buildings of this kind, is ongoing.

This is a run of limited edition prints numbering 150. The print is numbered, titled and signed on the reverse and care notes are also included to help you make the most of your purchase. See additional photos for examples.
