Okay, you might not have heard of Hoagy Carmichael, but I'll bet you have heard Ray Charles rendetion of "Georgia on my mind". Actually, Hoagy was one of the most prolific songwriters of the first half of the 20th century. If you are over 50, you are probably familar with "Stardust", "Heart and Soul" and "The Nearness of You". All by Hoagy This is my second painting of Hoagy. This one is called Hoagy II and is done in an entirely different style from the original Hoagy while still trying to capture the intensity and concentration of the composer.The painting is india ink and acrylic paint on archival grade drafting mylar. It is one of a kind and no authorized copies will ever be allowed. You can see a larger image at .
