Artist's description:

This artwork is a play on Hirst or Hearst, gives reference to the famous artwork by Damien Hirst 'The Physical Impossibility Of Death In The Mind Of Someone Living' which resulted in him gaining over £9m for the item fundamentally gaining the gold. this is what i have physically depicted here. It Struck me that the Hirst name shares a similarity to William Randolph Hearst the famous gold miner who had the gold but was by some considered a shark.

Ultimately this artwork is a statement on the transition of wealth and the perception of the person.

Using gold leaf (copper brass alloy) attained from the Queen Elizabeth II royal warranted gilding supplier this artwork pops from the page floating in the gold surrounding it.

Materials used:

Acrylic, Canvas, Gold Leaf (copper brass alloy)
