This is an original encaustic (beeswax) monotype collage mounted on a white cradled panel. Sparkling with silver, blue and gold paint on black paper this abstract artwork has a pronounced shagreen texture. This is a unique, one-of-a-kind hand-pulled monotype collage, not a reproduction.

Darwin declared that the hexagonal honeycomb is “absolutely perfect in economizing labor and wax.” Nature prefers hexagons and they are found in many places including fly eyes, soap bubbles, wasp nests and snowflakes.

Signed and dated on the back and wired for hanging, this artwork does not need to be framed.
