Original artwork description:

This is a portrait I made in artschool, the fourth year of a famous chef in Holland, Herman den Blijker.

In this painting I have experimented with the background color. The pistachio green was new to me and let the colors that I often work with; purple, blue, orange and brown pop a bit extra!

On the photos you can see the structure of the painting. Like the great Dutch masters, I use an underpainting that serves as guide during the process for the light and dark parts in a painting.
