Artist's description:

For me, inspiration comes from many places -- the natural world, archaeology, history, science, even cartoons. I love the idea of telling a story in one image.

“Here Kitty” (HK) was born from my love of ancient cultures. I love thinking about the world as it used to be and capturing those elements to bring into our own spaces. HK is a composition based on Anasazi and Pueblo petroglyphs found at Newspaper Rock, UT and Petrified ForestNational Park, AZ. Some petroglyphs have a known, specific meaning, some tell stories, while others depict every-day life. The mountain lion might simply be a mountain lion. The “ball of yarn” image is actually a shield.

This piece is finished on the sides so it can be hung without a frame.

HK is intended to be a beautiful art piece on its own visual merits that recalls a time before modern writing, but if you want to pause a moment longer, I hope the image makes you ponder our world.
