Beautiful bodies dot the beaches of the world as we quest for our fun in the sun and relaxation. This young woman soaked up some rays but was quite busy on her cell phone, keeping-in-touch in her solitude.
The colors of the ocean and beach are from tropical memories but the figure was actually sunning at Avila Beach, California. It's a beautiful south-facing beach in San Luis Bay which draws me back often.
This painting is done on a 1 1/2deep boxed frame birch panel; is ready to hang with no frame needed. The edges are clear sealed birch. I use several coats of professional grade sealer on the wood before painting oils with my palette knife and give it a light varnish. It has fantastic texture.
