This painting is a seascape depicting a tugboat leaving harbor for the open sea. No other people are up and about yet as this hardworking vessel starts another day.
As a seaman myself I have seen and spoke with many of the skippers and men on these ships. They are a hardy breed unlike many others and a pleasure to paint.
