This is a drawing done from real time observation of this model at an open drawing session. I used a sable brush and black drawing ink on white. archival multimedia paper.
This is possibly my favorite type of work, it's always got a freshness and spontaneity that is harder to capture in a more studied, studio setting. When I am forced to try to complete something within a short deadline, I use an alla prima technique--painting wet into wet, in this case with drawing ink and a sable brush. In the studio, my work is done in a series of underpaintings and layers that build up over time.
This work will come to you shipped rolled in a very secure tube. It will fit into a standardized frame.
