Artist's description:

My tool series is more conceptual, presenting tools largely unadulterated aside from deeply engraved scars of words which contradict what the viewer sees before them--a hammer with the word “screwdriver” embedded on its handle, an ax labeled “shovel,” and so on.

These tools confront viewers, challenging notions of fact and reality. How do we define truth? In drawing sharp focus to each item’s initial purpose by compromising that purpose, I challenge visitors to consider how these objects reaffirm or defy basic truths and falsehoods.
