Shown here is a view of Gran Via Street, as it departs from Alcalá Street. Saint Joseph Church stands out on the right, with its characteristic red coating and stone façade.
Today Gran Via Street, known as the Spanish Broadway, is one of the streets with the most nightlife in Europe, full with hotels, shopping centres, restaurants, movie and musical theatres and its grand architecture.
I have used acrylic colours loosely applied on the entire painting, and oil colours on top for some details.
The Taxy in foreground serves the dual purpose of bringing modern life into the picture, and adding depth to the scene.
This picture is currently unframed. It could be shipped as is, letting the buyer frame it to his/her taste or, alternatively, I could have a wooden edge, 3cm thick, be glued to its back and painted in a matching colour, at no additional cost to the buyer, such that no other frame would be necessary. It would ship ready to hang.
In the latter case one additional week should be added to the regular shipping time
