Artwork description:

This linocut is inspired by the large reptile like monster that features in Japanese films first produced in the 1950s. It was a very satisfying and complex linocut to undertake, using one block which was cut then etched using caustic soda to produce the unusual sky effects. It was then cut and printed again several times, sometimes with stencils to mask out areas of the print. It is a variable limited edition.

Materials used:

Lino printed on Japanese Similie paper using water washable inks
