Artist's description:

The goat is taken from a wood engraving which you can find on Historiae Animalium by Conrad Gesner, which is an encyclopedic “inventory of renaissance zoology” published at Zurich in 1551–58. It is the first modern zoological work that attempts to describe all the animals known, and the first bibliography of natural history writings.

Linocut printed with a vertical press on 200 gr. ivory paper rismacqua Favini using chalcographic turquoise blue ink.

Materials used:

paper, chalcographic ink
