Glass Reflections with thistles 1 is part of my popular 'Glass Reflection' range. Glass objects are placed on a mirrored surface so the colours and shapes are reflected throughout the composition. In this design the mirror is placed at an angle and the viewer can see peaches and blues in the reflection. The mirror picks up the colours from the surrounding environment and they resonate throughout the design. Look closely at the glass to see the thistles and leaves reflected in the glass (in particular the round bowl in the foreground.)
The unusual angle of my designs (aerial view) makes everyday objects seem unfamiliar and enable me to combine abstract qualities to a realistic and detailed painting.
The edges of the canvas are painted in accordance with the colours used in the design so the painting is ready to hang.
