Artwork description:

A lino print if the amazing basalt formations known as the Giant's Causeway on the Antrim Coast, Northern Ireland, developed from a trip there in December 2010.

“Giant's Causeway #2” is an original lino print. Three plates were individually hand carved and then printed with an oil-based but water washable ink in three shades of grey and blue on to Zerkal printmaking paper. This is an edition of 45. This is the second version of this print, the original version reflected the sombre atmosphere of my mid-winter visit to this great site. This version has a slightly lighter mood.

This print is made on Zerkal Printmaking paper with oil-based inks. It is presented 'loose' (ie unframed and without a mount) but send me a message with your frame size if you would like to discuss the addition of a hand-cut mount.

Please note that under 'dimensions' the first measurements are approximations of the paper size and the second set (actual image size) reflect the printed area.

Materials used:

hand carved lino and oil based ink
