This painting was inspired by the photograph by Rhett Hammerton taken of a young man from the Luritja country in Australia. In looking for subject matter to paint, I have been interested in representing different cultures that are not part of the mainstream, such as Native Americans and Aborigines and Homosexual Cowboys.
