Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

This piece is inspired by several things; the idea of fractals, notions of time passing and a vague geological interest. I chose to express these ideas with what I call a strata aesthetic. As with all of my work I have let this drawing grow and from the initial stimulus it has become its own entity.

This drawing was a test of my artistic discipline in following an idea faithfully that demanded extreme detail and intricacy that was at times painful to to continue to execute, this said I have enjoyed immensely the challenge this piece presented.

Materials used:

Pigment ink on Bristol board.
