Artist's description:

The country is vast (roughly the size of Texas) with a population of just short of two million. I undertake my journey from Windhoek to the private reserve of Sossusvlei in a light aircraft. Flying over golden sand dunes, stony mountains and endless grassland, I get to see how considerable and uninhabited the country truly is. This was the view from my desert lodge room - a small herd of Gemsbok, seeking shade under a spindly thorn tree.
