Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

With this picture, I had only one objective, to create a piece which for me painted tranquility with an air of the magical. The Geisha is a brilliant symbol of stillness and contemplation. I have illustrated Geisha before and enjoy the contours and patterns. On her hand sits a red billed leiothrix. I think this is a beautiful bird and wanted it to compliment the Geisha, to dialogue with her, quietly. The text comes from a Japanese proverb..."to rise eight times after falling seven..."
