The Game of Snakes represents life as most of us know it: plenty of snakes and no ladders. The original sketch had one ladder in it but even this seems to have disappeared in this picture.
It is painted on a piece of the linen bedsheet that was given to me.
The little lizard appears in most of the pictures made in this period as I add him to the picture I am making if I see him outside.
The plesiosaur at the bottom of the picture seems to have escaped from another picture
