Gaja Series : Gaja represents the elephants in Indian Mythology. Elephants have been the source of power, wisdom and grace. It is one of the most important subjects in Indian religious traditions, art and culture. My work on the Gaja series are paintings of elephants beautifully designed with a textured background. Gaja is of great importance on the motifs and carvings of Indian temples, festivals, architectures,traditional sarees and jewelries. Gaja series is a combination of different paintings which highlights intricately designed Gaja in colorful compositions.
About Gaja 15:
Elephant festival is one of the popular Indian festivals where Gaja is decorated with colours, embellishment and jewelries. Henna and flowers is used to decorate Gaja avoiding harsh chemicals and heavy accessories to let them enjoy the festival . It is painted on mount board.
