Artist's description:

Gaja Series : Gaja represents the elephants in Indian Mythology. Elephants have been the source of power, wisdom and grace. It is one of the most important subjects in Indian religious traditions, art and culture. My work on the Gaja series are paintings of elephants beautifully designed with a textured background. Gaja is of great importance on the motifs and carvings of Indian temples, festivals, architectures, traditional sarees and jewelries. Gaja series is a combination of different paintings which highlights intricately designed Gaja in colorful compositions.
Gaja 12- A traditional depiction of Gaja in gold and bronze designs with a faint white tone. A glimpse of what a royal white elephant looks like at midnight .Set in a calm background with lotus leaves around in cool hues , Gaja shines in moonlight . This painting is created on mount board with a light weight cotton cloth base pasted on it. This gives a fine base which enhances colors and can be kept for years without any change to moisture/atmosphere/humidity when framed.
