I have always been intrigued by paintings of night scenes, so I started working on a series of night paintings of my own. A month ago I went horseback riding in the woods in the moonlight. The glow of the full moon through the just budding trees was intensely inspiring, and I have made several pieces on this theme. This one I just completed this afternoon ( June 14) and it should be dry in a day or two. It is a challenging painting to photograph, so I'm posting a couple of different views so you can get the idea. When this piece is dry, it will be mounted on a 1 inch thick pine brace so it will be ready to hang.
