One in a series of large scale oil paintings depicting roses from the gardens at Kew.
Visiting Kew in mid-summer, I found the rose gardens in full bloom. The visual impact is always intoxicating, but only lasts for a few weeks. With this painting I wanted to capture forever this amazing, transient beauty at a scale that reflected the breathtaking impact of these flowers. The depth of tone and range of colours, the wonderful structure of the flowers and the subtlety of the petals.
At 1.2m x 1m in size, this painting makes a huge visual impact in any room, and will be a fantastic centrepiece to any art collection.
