Artist's description:

This painting was done on a low ebb. I was painting a lot of rubbish and was praying that I could paint something realistic and intense. This was the result. Looking back, I'm still very proud of it. It's about depression - and coming out from the shadows and saying 'Hey, I'm still here!'.

Have you ever seen the film The Constant Gardener? I love the quote in that film 'Sometimes the redemption is in the struggle.' Sometimes I wish I'd named this piece after that quote.
