Original artwork description:

acrylic colour on thai handmade mulberry paper(kada sa) , deckled edges, 10 x 13.5 in., 25 x 34 cm
More of my cats… They are like mimes, with lots of body language. And it may be about time I express them on paper… after all, they are always sitting around, posing for me. And this is one priceless pose expressed in bold brushwork.
The paper I use is a traditional handmade mulberry paper from Thailand. It’s a thick parchment like paper, strong yet pliable. I have the paper made to this size to get the deckled edges which adds to the textural effect.
The close up picture gives a better feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting. Then there’s the work in progress.
There's also a perspective shot with one of the models, my Siamese cat.
When considering framing bear in mind to not cover up the deckled edges. This is one of the specialties of the painting, one of its charms. It is best displayed framed with a cut mat board around the painting so as not to cover the edges, thereby putting some space between the art and the glass and bringing depth to the framed art. It can also be framed simply with backing board and pressed with glass over the front without causing damage.
