This painting is one of a collection of three called Fried Mashed and Scrambled. I wanted to represent something dislodged but with humor. Its tragic humor like when something happens to you and your friends laugh at you and you are in trauma but you can see the funny side of it too. A lot of blokes in bloke culture can be quite mean but have a lot of feeling there. I recognize that in myself.
I also wanted to touch on how being dyslexic my brain can feel like it is fried, mashed and scrambled in just trying to write an e-mail or phoning up someone official and within the first few seconds I’ve said all the wrong things. I've got a disconnection between my brain and my mouth
I'm very awkward especially in formal situations, it can get tense very quickly, What I’ve noticed as I’m getting older I can be more relaxed with being Fried, Mashed and Scrambled. I hope that my work will hit the nail on the head for some people and they can relate it to their experience.
The paper is high quality Bockingford Watercolour paper that is 30 x 22 inches and I leave an approximately two inch boarder around the painting.
