Oil Painting of an emerald green ‘Freightliner’, a make of 18-wheeler trucks. Because of it’s incredible color, which shone incredibly in the northern Maine sunshine; I found this be a challenge in being able to recreate textures such as chrome, metallic paint, and glass. Although not a subject I would normally have chosen to paint...I find that opportunities to learn and express subject and technique can be found in almost anything, if I am willing to look and be willing to discard my notions of what I think of as visually ‘appealing’.
