This work of art is a refractory clay sculpture.
Working with clay creates in me very deep feelings, it gives me physical pleasure, in particular this type of clay. Refractory clay is a very particular, grainy clay, when you work it you have the sensation of dipping your hands in the wet sand at the seashore.
Working clay is very sensual and primordial.
In this sculpture I try to represent the map of a New World and it connects to the series of abstract artworks entitled New Possible Worlds.
Materials used:
refractory clay, engobe, enamel and oxidized iron
