This collection entitled Fractured Bauhaus has been inspired by the design movement Bauhaus. Bauhaus, was an art school in Germany that combined crafts and the fine arts, and was famous for the approach to design that it publicised and taught.
I continue to be surrounded and influenced daily by overwhelming visions of pattern, shapes, colours and lines, this collection strips back pattern focusing on the compositional layout.
I very much enjoy working with small (12x12cm) images, focusing on intricate details of placement.
By using the laser cutting machine during this process allowed me to add a completely new dimension to my pieces and has opened my imagination to new worlds of endless possibilities.
