Original artwork description:

This is a striking watercolour painting capturing the elemental nature of the landscape at Dungeness.

I was inspired by the objects that Derek Jarman placed in his garden at Dungeness and wanted to capture these in this painting.

I always sketch from life so I made several trips to Dungeness to sketch and paint Derek Jarman's garden and the painting evolved from these detailed sketches.

The painting illustrates the joy and inspiration that Derek Jarman found in his garden and conveys that joy to us.

The painting is supplied in a card mount, ready for framing. Do contact me if you have any questions.
