Artist's description:

This watercolour was a part of a series to illustrate an elegant anthology by Christopher Ellott. For each poem I did three originals, on lovely Zerkall Wavy 100% cotton paper in Burnt Umber and Paynes Grey watercolour . These are Chinese style painting and have my Chop (red Chinese signature) as well as my pencilled Western signature.

Here is the poem for this painting:
FORM
In the beginning
was nothing
cradled
like a ball
or a belly
lapping gently
at the edge of form
Arms then
embrace the round
world of it
hands firm
as if on clay
forming from
nothing, with
the sheer
and gentle pressure
of something
like
LOVE

There are seven poems, but there are only five of all 21 paintings left!
