Artist's description:

Sheffield (UK) has a unique landscape, surrounded on all sides by hills. The city and national parkland bump right up against one and other. Whenever you leave the city you can always look back in on the, now miniature, city. This contradiction between the open wilderness and the urban is fascinating to me.
This work was made in reaction to a council decision to remove half of the trees in sheffield to save money on maintenance. A highly contentious decision which furthered the gulf between the urban and the countryside.

Materials used:

Oil paint, acrylic, photo transfer
