The French city of Dijon boasts many beautiful historical buildings and on a painting weekend to this fine city, I was inspired by this particular skyline. It is formed by the group of buildings made up of the castle of Fontaines lès Dijon and l’Église St Bernard. As the weather was too unpredictable for painting outside, I painted it from my window, leaving out the buildings in the near foreground and concentrating on the skyline. I have set it against the sky that originally inspired me with large cumulus clouds threatening to bring showers.
This original watercolour painting was painted in the Quartier Drapeau in the city of Dijon on 650g, 100% cotton rag, mould-made paper and comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
600g Hahnemühle, 100% cotton rag, rough, mould-made paper, Windsor and Newton watercolour paints
