This dreamy floral abstract artwork was inspired by the intensity and spontaneity found in much abstract art. The panel is very much a product of the artist's feelings and emotions at the time of its creation.
Floral Abstraction was made using an organic layering processes to achieve the final textures seen in this artwork. Firstly, an original handmade paper stencil was cut out and applied to the MDF board. A gel medium was then applied through the stencil to achieve a floral relief. Finally, layers of acrylic and mixed media paints were brushed and dripped onto the board, which resulted in the glossy, varnish-like look of the final artwork. The frame is part of the substrate, so the work comes in a black-painted frame.
