This one-of-a-kind sculpture is a part of my "Smoke & Fire" sculpture series.
She features blown glass and beaded elements.
It is an ORIGINAL RAKU sculpture.
She is about 10" tall and hollow with driftwood and birch bark inside.
I use low-fire red and white clay fired to 04 or stoneware fired to cone 6.
Sculptures are bisque fired to cone 04 then glazed with a variety of glazes to 06 -cone 6.
Some pieces are fired multiple time to achieve the desired effect.
This piece was RAKU fired.
Many sculptures feature driftwood and stones that I've gathered from beautiful Lake Superior near our home in Northern Wisconsin. Some have blown glass elements.
