Artist's description:

This is one in a series I did last year of relief paintings based around the theme of Cornish mining. This one depicts a flooded mine in cross section executed in a simplified, Primitive style. Flooding was something that occurred quite regularly in mines around the coast of West Cornwall in the 18th and 19th centuries, sometimes with tragic results. Comes with a white painted pine wood frame and is ready to hang.

Materials used:

Plaster, acrylics, board
