Artist's description:

Using a butterfly as inspiration I took an exotic flight. I used red, a color associated with energy and passion, to contrast the delicate white outlines of butterflies flying through mysterious black shapes conjuring possibilities and potential.

I carefully paint on a smooth non-absorbing surface working with brushes, rollers and palette knives. I use random objects and things found in nature to apply or selectively subtract additional layers of paint as I define the composition and drawing of my artwork. I then transfer the image to a sheet of paper. I repeat this process several times to create elaborate and multilayered paintings. As each layer is transferred on to the paper I am left with a clean smooth surface on which I paint and draw the next layer. The result is a one of a kind monotype.

I include a signed Certificate of Authenticity.

This painting is sold unframed. You can choose to show its distinctive edges, typical of monotypes, to highlights its uniqueness when you have it framed or mat over the edges for a classic look.
