Artist's description:

I "take notes" when I drive--meaning I constantly snap photos of the colors and scenery around me. I use these notes--often of various places melded together--to remember the feeling and the particular beauty of a particular moment.

This painting shows the depth of color found in a "grey winter day". The first snow of the season barely covers the gold of the leaves that have yet to drop, the rust of the forest floor shows through on the edges of the rock faces and the slate cliff exposes bevels of teal greens.
